2003 Rural Road Projects were taken up in the year 2006 in 25 Districts aiming at completion of 2000 k.m. of roads Rupees 1800 million was allocated to commence work. Rs. 1800 million has been spent at the end of year 2006 completing 4926 road projects giving benefits to 71904 families.Total rehabilitated distance was 2283.98 kilometers and it was 114% physical progress of the year.
1,345 Rural Road Projects were taken up in the year 2005 in 25 Districts aiming at completion of 731.38 k.m.of Roads. Rupees five hundred million was allocated to commence work. Rs. 500 million spent at the end of the year and 100% of the work completed giving benefits to 34,615families.
Rehabilitation of 600 k.m. of roads in seven provinces were commenced in 2004 as the start of the gigantic Maga Neguma Program. Estimated cost of the project was 213 million.
